GLMV Chamber of Commerce/Lake County Workforce Development/Job Center of Lake County Collaborate

Green Oaks, Libertyville, Mundelein, and Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce, is partnering with Lake County Workforce Development/Job Center of Lake County to connect businesses with workforce resources, training, and support. The collaboration is designed to advance opportunities through innovative workforce solutions, enhance professional development, and strengthen the overall economic vitality of the area.

“This partnership is a win-win for our local businesses and workforce,” said GLMV Chamber President Scott Adams. “By connecting Chamber members with these valuable resources, services and expertise we’re helping employers and workers locate new opportunities for talent and development.”

Through these initiatives, GLMV members can access a variety of educational workshops and information both virtual and in-person led by Workforce Development and others, offering insights into labor trends, technology, career pathways, and strategies. Businesses can also leverage Job Center services such as candidate sourcing, job postings, job fairs, internships, and apprenticeship development. For example, for those looking to start a career in finance, Baxter Credit Union is now offering paid Internship in partnership with Lake County Workforce Development. Participants will gain experience in customer service, financial knowledge, communication, teamwork, and more—all while receiving payment and support toward industry-recognized credentials.

In addition, On December 16, LCWFD will launch a new Strong Interest Assessment Workshop: Strong Steps “Turning Passion into Profession.” This interactive session to be held in Waukegan is designed to help participants explore career paths that align with their personal interests, values, and strengths — an excellent addition to their workforce development offerings.

GLMV Chamber provides networking, education, advocacy, and community development initiatives that support business success and economic growth.
