Homeless Man Accused Of Beating Man With Frying Pan In Waukegan

A homeless man was arrested after authorities say he beat and injured a man with a frying pan at an apartment building in Waukegan.

Eric V. Bledsoe, 43, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and obstructing identification.

A criminal complaint filed in Lake County Circuit Court alleges Bledsoe caused great bodily harm to a man on June 29.

The incident occurred at an apartment in the 2800 block of Grandville Avenue in Waukegan.

The complaint said Bledsoe used a frying pan to batter the victim, causing injury to him.

It is unclear what led to the attack and the victim’s condition was not immediately known.

Officers with the Waukegan Police Department arrested Bledsoe on June 30, court records show.

Bledsoe was charged with obstructing identification after he gave officers a fake name and birth date, the complaint said.

Lake County Circuit Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Bledsoe held in the Lake County Jail on a $100,000 during a bond hearing on July 2.

Bledsoe remains held in jail and would need to post $10,000 cash in order to be released.

Bledsoe, who was appointed a public defender, is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday for a motion of defense hearing.
