'Keep An Eye Out' Amid Recent Package Thefts In Libertyville
Police share these preventative measures to help residents avoid their packages from ending up in the hands of thieves.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — There have been several reports of package thefts over the last few weeks, according to the Libertyville Police Department. Because of these reports, police are encouraging residents to take preventative measures to avoid their packages from ending up in the hands of thieves.
Police also advise residents to talk to their neighbors and keep an eye out for unfamiliar cars around the neighborhoods, in addition to these tips:
- Schedule deliveries to arrive when you are home.
- Have a trusted friend or neighbor pick up your delivery.
- Require a signature upon delivery.
- Set up an alternate pick up or delivery option.
- Install a package lockbox.
- Report to police if you see anything suspicious.
