Lake County Deputy's Quick Reaction Prevents Crash: Video

In a video below, a driver attempting a U-turn avoids being t-boned thanks to the deputy's quick reaction.

LAKE COUNTY, IL — The Lake County Sheriff's Office is reminding drivers to always pay attention, especially while sitting in traffic, after one of their deputies avoided what could've been a serious crash. According to the sheriff's office, the deputy was driving to a traffic crash scene with his squad car's emergency lights and siren activated, when a driver tried to make a U-turn. In the video below, the driver attempting the U-turn avoids being T-boned thanks to the deputy's quick reaction, the sheriff's office said.

The sheriff's office also reminds drivers that if you’re going to attempt to turn around, be aware of your surroundings.

This incident happened nearly one week after the sheriff's office shared a video on Facebook captured during an incident on the side of Route 41.

In what appears to be an effort to warn and educate motorists across Lake County and Illinois, the sheriff's office posted the question, "Can you count the number of Scott's Law violation?" along with video captured while a deputy was shielding a group of kids whose vehicle broke down on the side of the busy roadway.
