At Least 10 Suspects Burglarize, Steal Vehicles In Libertyville: Cops
Officers in Libertyville responded to multiple locations to investigate reports burglaries to vehicles and stolen vehicles early Wednesday.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle break-ins that happened early Wednesday.
At about 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday, officers in Libertyville responded to multiple locations to investigate reports of people entering and rummaging through parked vehicles, including one location where there were 10 Black male suspects targeting the vehicles, according to the Libertyville Police Department press release.
Authorities also received reports of stolen vehicles, according to the news release. Police were called to the 1100 block 0f Sussex Lane for a report of a stolen vehicle, which had been left unlocked with keys inside, according to the press release.

The vehicle, a 2018 Subaru, was equipped with a GPS tracker and was found abandoned on I-94 near the Lake Forest Oasis. In addition, a stolen and unoccupied Dodge Durango was found near the Subaru.

Following the crime spree, the Libertyville Police Department is reminding residents to lock their vehicles, remove any valuables and to remove the keys and/or key fobs from their vehicles.
Police are also reminding residents to make sure the doors to their garages and residences are locked, especially at night.
