Libertyville High Football Game Canceled Due To COVID-19
The Week 1 game against Carmel Catholic Friday has been called off due to COVID-19 cases at Carmel.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Libertyville High School's Friday night football game against Carmel Catholic School in Mundelein has been cancelled due to concerns over COVID-19.
The cancellation of the Week 1 game comes amid positive cases being reported at Carmel, according to the Daily Herald. Libertyville is now looking for a new team to play Friday.

This is the third area Week 1 game called off due to COVID-19. South Elgin cancelled its game against Fenton due to COVID cases at Fenton, and St. Viator did not travel to Kenosha, Wis., for its Week 1 game due to new public health travel guidelines, according to the Daily Herald.
