Libertyville Police Car Rear-Ended During Traffic Stop
The Libertyville Police Department tells drivers to remember Scott's Law after after their officer's squad car was rear-ended Tuesday.
LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Libertyville Police Department is sharing a message with drivers after an incident involving one of their officers Tuesday morning. According to the police department, the Libertyville police officer had his emergency lights activated while conducting a traffic stop at 4:57 a.m. Tuesday, when his squad car was rear-ended by another car. Although the police department is thankful all involved weren't injured, they're telling drivers to remember Scott's Law:
"When you see any police or other emergency vehicle stopped along the roadway, you must: Reduce your speed. Change lanes if possible. Proceed with due caution," the police department wrote on Facebook.
