Libertyville Team to Climb Kilimanjaro for Charity

A group of six Libertyville residents will tackle Mount Kilimanjaro next month to raise money for a school for impoverished children.

To raise money for education in Tanzania, a group of six Libertyville residents will attempt to climb Africa's tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro, next month, reports PR.com.

The team's goal is to raise money to help finish the infrastructure of the Stella Maris School for orphaned and underprivileged children, which is operated by the Libertyville-based Mailisita Foundation, according to PR.com.

The non-profit foundation's long-term plan is to add a new classroom to the school each year, reported the Libertyville Review. The team has raised more than $16,000 to build two new classrooms at the school this summer.
