Major Upgrades Coming To Butler Lake Park

Libertyville's largest park could see many improvements in the coming years.

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — Major upgrades are in the works for Butler Lake Park in Libertyville.

The Libertyville Village Board recently approved two contracts for engineering and design work regarding the park upgrades, which will focus on improvements to an area of Butler Lake Park north of Lake Street and east of Butterfield Road, according to the Daily Herald.

The contracts were awarded to Naperville-based Hitchcock Design Group in the amount of $64,500 for design work on the playground, game tables, seating, fitness station, shelter and pollinator garden, and to Rosemont-based Christopher B. Burke Engineering for $70,100 to complete a topographic and utility survey, stormwater management analysis and parking lot specifications.

Work on the parks is not expected to start until spring 2025.
