Man, 21, Fatally Shot In Mundelein
The shooting death is being investigated as a murder, police said Tuesday.
MUNDELEIN, IL — A homicide investigation is underway after a 21-year-old Wheeling man was fatally shot in Mundelein Monday night.
The man was taken to the hospital before police arrived at the scene of the shooting in the 700 block of South Lake Street at about 7:10 p.m. Monday, according to a new release from the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.
The 21-year-old man, who has not yet been identified, died in the emergency room at Advocate Condell Medical Center, police said. His death is being investigated as a murder.

Police say the man who transported the 21-year-old man to the emergency room left before officers arrived at the hospital. Anyone with information regarding the fatal shooting is encouraged to call Mundelein Police at 847-968-4600.
