Man Rams Ex-Girlfriend's Vehicle, Starts Shooting At Her: Police
A Zion man was arrested after police say he nearly rammed his ex-girlfriend's vehicle with his vehicle and fired a weapon.

A Zion man was arrested after police say he nearly rammed his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle with his vehicle, began fighting her, and then fired a gunshot in her direction.

Drashaun L. Bowers, 31, of Zion, was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, domestic battery and two counts of resisting a peace officer.
The Zion Police Department responded around 2:08 p.m. Sunday to the 1800 block of Joanna Avenue for a call of a gunshot fired.

Zion Police Chief Kirk Henderson said that officers were directed to the 2100 block of Gabriel Avenue after dispatchers received a call from a victim reporting that her ex-boyfriend had fired a gun at her and she had followed him to Gabriel Avenue.
Officers arrived and learned that the suspect, identified as Bowers, had fled into an apartment in the 2100 block of Gabriel Avenue.
The victim told officers that Bowers had almost run into her vehicle with his vehicle while she was driving in the 1800 block of Joanna Avenue, Henderson said.

The woman had pulled over to the side of the road to avoid a collision when Bowers also pulled over. Both exited their vehicles and began arguing before physically fighting.
Henderson said that Bowers returned to his vehicle, retrieved a handgun and fired one round at the victim before fleeing in his vehicle.
The victim followed Bowers to the 2100 block of Gabriel Avenue and observed him exit his vehicle and run into an apartment.
Officers surrounded the apartment and were able to talk Bowers into exiting the apartment and surrendering to them.
Officers obtained consent to search the apartment from the resident and recovered a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun, Henderson said.
No one was injured in the incident. Bowers was ordered held in the Lake County jail on a $200,000 bond.
