Motorcyclist Dies In Waukegan Collision

WAUKEGAN, IL — A 31-year-old man was killed in a fiery two-vehicle crash Monday night in Waukegan.

The Waukegan police departments and fire departments responded to Green Bay Road and Sunset Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. Monday after a car and motorcycle collided, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.

The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Waukegan man, became trapped underneath the car following the collision and was taken to Vista Medical Center East where he was pronounced dead.

The man has been identified as Jose Rodriguez, 31, of Waukegan. Preliminary results from an autopsy show he died from blunt force injuries cased by a crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
