Here are four breweries in the northern Chicago suburbs that received awards this year.
NORTHERN CHICAGO SUBURBS, IL — Several brewers in the Northern Chicago area took home awards at the World Beer Cup this past spring.
Widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer,” the World Beer Cup is the largest beer competition in the world.
Here is a look at which breweries in the northern Chicago suburbs took home awards this year:

- Crystal Lake Brewing in Crystal Lake received a bronze medal for its "Frozen Over," a brown porter.
- Sundial Brewing and Blending in Barrington received a silver in the session beer or Belgian-style table beer for its "Table Courage"
- Tonality Brewing Co. in Mundelein received a silver in the Belgian-style dubbel category for its "Dubbel Crit"
- Double Clutch Brewing Company in Evanston received a bronze in the German-style alter for its "Altbier"
