
Beatrice Jost (nee Blocks), of Prairie View, passed away March 8 at Highland Park Hospital. Beatrice was born April 16, 1929 in Wheeling to Leo and Isabell Blocks. Bea married Ed Jost on April 23, 1949 at St. Mary's Church in Buffalo Grove. She worked in the Stevenson High School cafeteria for many years and was known for her famous chocolate chip cookies. She enjoyed the outdoors whether cycling (motor and bike), snowmobiling or RV’ing with her family. Beatrice enjoyed following the Cubs and Blackhawks but being with her grandchildren, watching them play sports or perform music made her the most proud.
Beatrice is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Edward; her children Rick “Richard” (Kathleen), Linda Bevers, Stephen E. (Dorie), Dave (Kari) and Robert M. (Lori); her grandchildren Aaron, Heidi, John, Chad, Ryan, Todd, Spencer, Kylie, Amber, Cayson, Garrin, Collin, Keegan, Michael, Nicholas and Matthew; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great granddaughters.
Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 14 at 10 a.m. at Saint Mary Parish (Old Church), 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove, with a visitation 20 minutes prior to Mass. Interment following at Saint Mary Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday March 13 from 4-8 p.m. at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral info (847) 362-2626. Please sign the guest book at libertyvillefuneralhome.com.
