Pedestrian Hit By Train Near North Chicago

NORTH CHICAGO, IL — A pedestrian has been hit a train near North Chicago, Metra officials said Thursday morning,

All inbound and outbound trains on the Union Pacific North line have been halted following the incident, according to an update from Metra. Extensive delays are anticipated.

The pedestrian was hit by train 323, Metra officials said. It's unclear at this point the extent or severity of injuries sustained in the incident.
