Police Looking For Driver Who Hit, Killed 19 Geese In Mundelein

According to police, the unknown vehicle hit the geese while the birds were crossing Midlothian, and then drove away.

MUNDELEIN, IL — The Mundelein Police Department is asking for the public's help in the search for a driver who hit and killed 19 Canada geese around 5:15 p.m. Sunday while headed southbound on Midlothian Road near Cambridge Road. According to police, the unknown vehicle reportedly hit the pack of geese as they tried to cross the road and then drove away from the area.

Police said Canada geese are protected migratory birds and, if intentionally hit, the offenders could be fined by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
