Snowfall Totals Released For Lake, McHenry Counties

After a winter storm brought snow and high winds Saturday, the National Weather Service has published snowfall levels recorded in Lake and McHenry counties.
The National Weather Service (NWS) called for 4-6 inches in most places and projected 5-8 in some areas of Lake County.

The NWS issued a winter storm warning Saturday at noon that expired early Sunday morning.
The warning was for Lake, McHenry, DuPage, Cook, Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, Lee, DeKalb, Kane, LaSalle, Kendall, Grundy and Will counties.
Snow, heavy at times, fell in much of the Chicago area Saturday afternoon into the evening.
Travel was hazardous and numerous vehicle crashes were reported.
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) said Saturday afternoon that their snowplow drivers were “working hard to keep up with the continuous snowfall.”
