Truck Driven Over Spring Grove Man During Argument Over Mower

According to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, a 40-year-old man was knocked down by the truck's door before being run over by tire.

SPRING GROVE, IL — What began as an argument over a lawnmower Sunday in unincorporated Spring Grove led to one man reportedly running over another with his pickup truck, according to a release by the Lake County Sheriff's Office. Lake County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the 38400 block of North 4th Avenue at 1:40 p.m. Sunday for person that was reportedly run over by a vehicle, and when deputies got there they found a 40-year-old man, of the 27900 block of West Rowe Avenue, unincorporated Spring Grove, with critical injuries.

According to an investigation, the 40-year-old man, and two other men from unincorporated Spring Grove — a 39-year-old man of the 38300 block of North 5th Avenue, and a 22-year-old man of the 38400 block of North 4th Avenue who was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Pickup Truck — were said to have been in an argument in the driveway area of the 22-year-old's home.

According to the release, the 22-year-old started pulling forward out of his driveway during the argument, when the 40-year-old man was hit by one of the truck's open rear doors, knocking him to the ground. The youngest man continued driving forward and one of the truck's back tires ran over the 40-year-old, according to the sheriff's office. He was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he's in serious, but stable condition, according to the release.

No charges have been filed yet but are possible, according to the sheriff's office.
