Teen Clocked Going 140 MPH On I-94: Police
The boy was driving on Interstate 94 near Route 137 near Libertyville when state police busted him, according to authorities.
State police arrested and charged a juvenile after they caught the teen driving 140 mph, which is 75 mph over the limit, on Interstate 94 near Libertyville.
An Illinois State Police District 15 trooper was on patrol around 9:50 p.m. on June 29, according to Illinois State Police Trooper Omoayena Williams.

Williams said the trooper clocked a blue 2017 Dodge traveling 140 mph in a 65 mph zone on I-94 just south of Route 137 near milepost 14 in Libertyville.
The Dodge was traveling eastbound and the trooper was able to catch up and conduct a traffic stop.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy from Waukegan, was arrested and charged with aggravated speeding. He was also issued a written warning for failure to signal when changing lanes.
The 17-year-old driver was released on a recognizance bond and issued a future court date, Williams said.
“For all who complain about the posted speed limit being too low, how do you justify 140 mph in a posted 65 mph zone? ” Illinois State Police District 15 said in a Facebook post, calling the incident “unreal.”
The state police reminded drivers to slow down and save lives.
