Texas Longhorn Bulls Reunited With Owner After Escape

Five Texas Longhorn bulls that escaped from their owner last week and were loose in the Spring Grove and Johnsburg area have been captured.

The Johnsburg Junior High School posted a photo just before 9 a.m. Thursday of a loose calf that had been roaming on the school grounds.

“Exciting morning at JJHS today,” the school said in the post.

The Johnsburg Police Department said several Texas Longhorn cattle got loose in the Johnsburg area Thursday morning. The owner was attempting to capture the animals, police said. The bull spotted at the high school was a six-month-old.

In an update Thursday afternoon, police said the 6-month-old calf had been captured.

The four other Texas Longhorns wandered to Spring Grove and were still on the loose as of Friday.

The owner was working with several volunteers to capture them, police said.

On Saturday, three of the five bulls had been captured and police said Monday they believed the remaining ones were in Walworth County, Wisconsin.

The Johnsburg Police Department said Tuesday afternoon that all of the cattle were back home.
