Wildwood Man Accused Of Motor Vehicle Theft In Libertyville

LIBERTYVILLE, IL — A Wildwood man is facing a number of charges including motor vehicle theft and drug possession after he was arrested by Libertyville police June 25. Police responded to the 1800 block of North Milwaukee Avenue at 2:05 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a stolen vehicle, the Libertyville Police Department said, in a release sent to Patch. According to police, the victim knew the suspect and told police that a cell phone and personal items were also stolen.
Police said the victim traced the cell phone to the 100 block of East Church Street, and when officers arrived at this location they found the vehicle unoccupied. However, a short time later two people got in the car and drove away, according to police.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on the car and the driver was identified as 31-year-old Sean Eric Walkington, of the 18600 block of W. Deerpath Road, according to the release. Police told Walkington he was in possession of a stolen vehicle and arrested him and the other passenger, according to police.

Officers took the two to the Libertyville Police Department, and found that Walkington was in possession of a controlled substance while doing an inventory of his property, police said.
Walkington was processed, cited, and transported to the Lake County Jail in Waukegan, and his bond has been set at $20,000 with 10 percent to apply, on charges of possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass to motor vehicle and driving while licesne revoked for DUI, according to police. Police added that the other passenger was released without charges.
