Workers on Tuesday boarded up all of the broken first-floor windows of the building.
Peeler said officers are also investigating a second criminal damage to property incident nearby that was discovered on Monday.
A business in the 500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue had a window damaged.
It appeared that the window was intentionally damaged by someone who used a brick.
No arrests have been made as of Thursday, Peeler said.
Both incidents are still under investigation and police said additional information was not available.
