Woman, 42, Dies In Apartment Blaze
The fire happened Saturday at an apartment building in Waukegan.
WAUKEGAN, IL — A 42-year-old Waukegan woman died in a fire at an apartment building in Waukegan over the weekend.
The blaze broke out at about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday at the apartment complex in the 2700 block of West Glen Flora Avenue in Waukegan. When fire crews arrived, they found heavy flames coming from a first-floor apartment.
Firefighters found a dead woman inside the apartment where the fire started.

On Tuesday, the Lake County Coroner's Office identified as a 42-year-old woman. Her full identity will be confirmed once scientific identification, through dental records, has been completed.
Preliminary results from an autopsy show the woman died from inhalation of products of combustion as a results of a fire. Toxicology testing, including carbon monoxide testing, are pending, according to the coroner's office news release.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Waukegan Fire Department, Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal, and the Waukegan Police Department.
