LAKE COUNTY, IL — Authorities are investigating "the unusual circumstances" surrounding the death of a 28-year-old woman who was found unresponsive on the roof of a suburban hospital and then died 14 hours later.
The 28-year-old Waukegan woman, whose name was not being released Friday, was admitted to Vista Medical Center East in Waukegan earlier this week for treatment of medical issues, according to a news release from the Lake County Coroner's Office.
At about 8:45 a.m. on Thursday, she was found unresponsive on the roof of the hospital. The woman was moved to the emergency room where she was treated for about 14 hours, according to the coroner's office. She was pronounced dead at about 11 p.m. Thursday.
