WAUKEGAN, IL — Waukegan Police Department officers were called to a home around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Leith Avenue for a reported home invasion, according to Lake and McHenry County Scanner. That's where an elderly woman told officers her home was broken into earlier that day while she was sleeping, and police are looking for a suspect who confronted the woman inside her home and stole cash and other valuables before leaving, according to the news report.
The suspect, who Waukegan Police Commander Joe Florip said was unknown to the woman, is described as a black man in his 20s, thin, about 6 feet tall, with brown, straight, shoulder length hair. The woman wasn't injured during the incident, Florip added, according to Lake and McHenry County Scanner.
