ZION, IL — A Zion woman was taken by a Flight for Life helicopter Saturday to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville after police said she was hit and dragged by a car in the 2200 block of Elisha Avenue. The Zion Police Department is investigating the serious car vs. pedestrian hit and run they said happened at 9:49 a.m. Saturday, seriously injuring the woman.

The victim, a 63-year-old woman, was dragged by an older model four-door, gray sedan, with a partial Wisconsin license plate AEZ, according to police. The car was driven by a black male and a white female passenger was inside.

According to police, the car was last seen headed eastbound in the 1200 block of 21st Street.

According to a fundraising page set up by the woman's daughter, Becky Teschler, the woman — identified as Nancy Ezell — was "in her own driveway when she was ran over by people who had no right to be on the property," and who were having a "mid-morning romp in the back seat" of their car.

"This guy saw my mom behind his car, he put it in Reverse and floored it," Teschler wrote on the page. "His car dragged my mom down the driveway, removing a portion of her scalp. Her brain is bruised, swollen and bleeding, she is in coma right now."
