Public Hearing Planned For Proposed Data Center In Lisle
A public hearing will be held to discuss a data center proposed for 711 Ogden Ave. in Lisle.

LISLE, IL — A public hearing will be held Jan. 21 to discuss a proposal for a data center at 711 Ogden Ave. in Lisle.
Petitioners CloudCenters, LLC, has requested a special use permit for a planned unit development that would allow them to build and operate the data center. If the request is approved, petitioners plan to demolish the building that is currently onsite and had been occupied by The Lockformer Company. The 256,000 square foot data center would include close to 16,000 square feet of space for offices.
Plans include moving the site's current full-movement access drive via Ogden Avenue roughly 80 feet west so it lines up with Arborview Drive, a traffic study conducted by KLOA showed. A stop sign would be installed for outgoing traffic. Additional plans include widening Ogden Avenue to create a right turning lane for cars approaching the site from the east.

Per the traffic study, vehicle access to the data center will be gate-controlled and located roughly 150 feet south of Ogden "to allow for adequate stacking of vehicles without backing traffic up onto Ogden Avenue."
The data center would be operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week year-round.

In its petition, CloudCenters, LLC writes, "The benefits of the Data Center are compelling. Specifically, the proposed project will (1) create jobs for the construction and operation of the Data Center; (2) provide a significant new tax revenue stream; (3) enhance the aesthetic character of the Property; and (4) provide a permanent solution to the soils condition of the Property."
If the project is approved, the petitioner aims to acquire the property by February, with the initial phase of construction on the data center set for no earlier than the third quarter of 2026. The end of 2027 would be the projects projected completion, according to village documents.
The proposal comes as residents in Naperville oppose a proposed data center at the former site of Lucent Center at 1960 Lucent Ln.
The public hearing will be held Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at Lisle Village Hall, 925 Burlington Ave.
