• Play It Again Sports Roundup - Friday, Dec. 12, 2025-Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 (riverbender.com) — Litchfield High School’s Purple Panthers boys basketball team cruised to a 55–28 home win over Piasa Southwestern, leading 30–14 by halftime and improving to 4–3. The wider roundup also highlights other regional high school basketball and wrestling results from December 12–13 that local sports fans may be following.
   

• Jonathan Durston (riverbender.com) — Litchfield is mourning the loss of Jonathan William Durston, 41, who died at his home on December 15. A Walmart department manager, artist, motorcycle and movie enthusiast, and devoted St. Louis Blues fan, he is survived by his wife Lois “Katie,” son Alaric, parents, brother, and extended family. A celebration of life will be held later, with memorials suggested for his son’s fund.
