Body Pulled From Kankakee River In Apparent Drowning: Authorities
The male's body was pulled from the river Friday afternoon, police and fire said.
KANKAKEE, IL — A body was pulled from the Kankakee River Friday, the victim of an apparent drowning, Kankakee police and fire departments said in a release.
At approximately 12:06 p.m. June 13, the Kankakee City Fire and Police Departments were notified of a possible drowning on the Kankakee River just North of the Bird Park Boat Ramp. Civilian bystanders indicated the location of a submerged individual downstream of the Fisherman's Park area.
The Kankakee Fire Department launched a rescue boat and located a deceased male in the Kankakee River. The victim's age and name have not yet been disclosed.

The details of the drowning are being investigated by Kankakee County Coroner's Office. Kankakee police and fire were assisted by the Kankakee County Coroner's Office, Sheriff's Department, and Illinois Conservation Police.
