Driver Pulled From Semi Hauling Leaking Propane Tank: Manhattan Fire
The incident has closed another portion of Wilmington-Peotone Road Tuesday afternoon.

MANHATTAN, IL — A driver is safe after being pulled from a semi hauling a leaking propane tank, the Manhattan Fire Protection District said in a release.
Manhattan Fire was called just after 12:30 p.m. to Wilimington-Peotone Road near Cedar Road, for the incident. The driver was extricated and taken for medical care, Manhattan Fire officials said.
E-Environmental was contacted to assist with hazardous materials cleanup, and Will County Emergency Management Agency supported traffic control operations.

Wilmington-Peotone Road is closed in both directions from Route 45 to Tulley Road. It will remain closed for several hours due to the ongoing response and cleanup efforts. Mutual aid was provided by the Elwood Fire Protection District, New Lenox Fire Protection District, and Wilmington Fire Protection District. Rendell’s Towing was on the scene assisting with the semi recovery.
Earlier Tuesday, a driver was killed in a two-car crash involving a semi and passenger vehicle, at Wilmington-Peotone Road and 120th Avenue, the fire district said.

The car sustained heavy front-end damage, with a woman driver pinned inside. She was later pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
Two other patients evaluated at the scene refused medical attentions.
Wilmington-Peotone Road remains closed in both directions from US Route 45 and Cedar Road as Will County Sheriff's police investigate.
