Halloween 2022: Manhattan Sets Trick Or Treat Hours For Village

Trick-or-treaters will be out and about scaring up treats from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the spookiest day of the year: Monday, Oct. 31.

MANHATTAN, IL — Halloween is just a few days away, and that means little ghouls and goblins abound in Manhattan. The Village of Manhattan has set the trick-or-treating hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, so there will be plenty of time for collecting candy during both daylight and nighttime hours.

And while you're out and about getting treats and playing tricks, be sure to check out the Scarecrows on Parade out along U.S. Route 52 in Manhattan. The display is ongoing through Halloween.

Parents should keep the following tips in mind to ensure everyone stays safe and has a spooky good time:

  • A responsible adult should accompany young children.
  • If your older children are going alone, plan and review a route acceptable to you. Agree on a specific time children should return home.
  • Teach your children never to enter a stranger's home or car.
  • Instruct children to travel only in familiar, well-lit areas and stick with their friends.
  • Tell your children not to eat any treats until they return home, and take care to avoid any food allergies.
  • Children and adults are reminded to put electronic devices down, keep heads up and walk, don't run, across the street.
