Indiana Woman, 70, Killed In Crash With Semi: Will County Coroner

PEOTONE TOWNSHIP, IL — A 70-year-old Indiana woman has been identified as the driver killed in a head-on crash with a semi Tuesday in Peotone Township.

Judith Stirm, of Delphi, Indiana was killed when the car she was driving struck a semi head-on on Wilmington-Peotone Road, just west of Elevator Road, the Will County Coroner's Office said.

Manhattan Fire Protection first responders were called to the scene of the crash at 10:45 a.m. The car sustained heavy front-end damage, with Stirm pinned inside. She was later pronounced dead at the scene, Manhattan Fire Protection District Chief Steve Malone said

Two other patients evaluated at the scene refused medical attentions.

The Will County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
