Manhattan Park District Seeks Volunteers For Playground Build

MANHATTAN, IL — The Manhattan Park District is seeking volunteers to help bring a new playground to Century East Park. The park district and volunteers will be partaking in a community build Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the park (300 Brynn Drive in Manhattan) and all tools and training will be provided, according to the park district.

If you're interested in volunteering, the park asks that you register by Wednesday by calling 815-478-3324, or email mpd@manhattanparks.org.

The community build event is open to volunteers ages 10 and older, and volunteers under 16 years old must be supervised by an adult, according to the park district.

Volunteers are asked to please bring a face covering and work gloves. Snacks and water will be provided, the park district added.
