Manhattan School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

MANHATTAN, IL — The first day of school in Manhattan is August 22 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Manhattan School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/23: First Day for Early Childhood (Wilson Creek)
• 8/30: Early Dismissal

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/31: Early Dismissal

November

• 11/1: No School (Institute Day)
• 11/16: Early Dismissal
• 11/19 - 11/20: No School/Parent Teacher Conferences
• 11/21 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/14: Early Dismissal
• 12/21: Early Dismissal
• 12/24 - 12/32: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/4: No School (Holiday Recess)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)
• 1/25: Early Dismissal

February

• 2/14: Early Dismissal
• 2/18: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/1: Early Dismissal
• 3/4: No School (Casimir Pulaski Day)
• 3/22: Early Dismissal
• 3/25 - 3/29: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/18: Early Release
