The fire was out within 10 minutes of crews arriving at the fire at Smith and Schoolhouse roads.

MANHATTAN, IL — A fire in greenhouse materials near a Manhattan greenhouse Tuesday afternoon was quickly put out before it spread to the building, said Manhattan Fire Chief Steve Malone.

Crews were called to the scene in the 12000 block of Smith Road, near Smith and Schoolhouse roads, just before 2:15 p.m. Tuesday, Malone said. The fire was out within 10 minutes of crews arriving at the scene.
