Man, 74, Found Fatally Shot In Car At Monee Police Department

MONEE, IL — A 74-year-old man was found dead by apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Monee Police Department early Friday.

A patrol officer noticed the vehicle at 4 a.m. Friday, and discovered the man shot inside, police said on social media. Monee paramedics were called to the scene at 5357 W Main St., and declared the man dead.

The death is being handled by the Will County Coroner's office and police investigators. The man's name had not been released as of noon Friday.

The vehicle has been removed from the lot, police said.
