Scammer Targeting Manhattan Businesses: Police
The Manhattan PD warned residents Friday that someone was claiming to be with Comcast and trying to access the businesses' computers.

MANHATTAN, IL — The Manhattan Police Department alerted residents Friday of a scam that has targeted several businesses in the area, according to a Facebook post from the Manhattan PD.
Several area businesses had recently received calls from a person identifying themselves as a Comcast employee, according to police. The person was trying to get access to their computer.
The Manhattan PD is reminding people that they should verify directly with the company if someone claims to be with that company and tries to access their computer or financial information. Do not call back on the same number the scammer used, police said.
