'There Is Help': Manhattan Fire Shares Mental Health Resources
"To our brothers and sisters, please remember there are always avenues to be able to talk to someone and seek help if necessary," MFPD said.
MANHATTAN, IL — The Manhattan Fire Protection District is reminding community members, including fellow firefighters, to seek help when they need it as firefighters and first responders across the state react to multiple losses during the last week, including a high-ranking Chicago Police Department official. The fire protection district added that if you or anyone you know is struggling, there is help.
"Our hearts are heavy this week," the Manhattan Fire Protection District said in a statement shared on social media. "Our professions can bring great joy and satisfaction but can also come with hardship and sacrifice. To our brothers and sisters, please remember there are always avenues to be able to talk to someone and seek help if necessary."
