Tip Leads To Arrest Of Beecher Man On Child Porn Charges: Sheriff

BEECHER, IL — A Beecher man has been arrested on charges of child pornography, months after a tip to police sparked a police investigation.

On May 19, Jasen N. Zurisk, 49, was booked into the Will County Adult Detention Facility on six counts of child pornography, the Will County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

The investigation began on Jan. 22, 2025, when the Oak Lawn Police Department contacted detectives from the Will County Sheriff’s Office regarding tips they had received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Following this referral, Will County detectives launched a comprehensive investigation, the sheriff's office said.

On March 4, a search warrant was executed at Zurisk’s residence, resulting in the seizure of multiple electronic devices. The results led to an arrest warrant issued for Zursk on April 29.

Zurisk was taken into custody May 19 at approximately 4:25 p.m. in the 1300 block of 83rd Avenue in Merrillville, with the help of Merrillville Police Department in Indiana. He was held at the Lake County Jail in Indiana until his extradition to Will County that same day.

The Will County Sheriff’s Office thanked the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, the Oak Lawn Police Department, and the Merrillville Police Department for their collaboration and support throughout this investigation.
