Ready To Roll: Will Co. Threshermen's Vintage Tractor Drive A Nod To Farming Roots

MANHATTAN, IL — The Will County Threshermen’s Association (WCTA) has announced its annual Vintage Tractor Drive Fundraiser, set for Saturday, June 7. This beloved tradition brings together vintage tractor enthusiasts for a scenic 40-mile drive through the picturesque countryside of Will County.

The route begins at the WCTA Showgrounds at Spiess Farm in Manhattan and winds through rural roads to Steve Issert Farm in Wilmington, where participants will enjoy a lunch prepared by WCTA Director Brian Kestel and member Brian Hennings. The event highlights the beauty of Illinois farmland and the community spirit that fuels WCTA’s mission.

Please note: All participants must bring and drive their own tractor. Tractors will not be provided.

“Each year, the Tractor Drive reminds us of our roots—literally and figuratively," said Jim Robbins, member of the WCTA Tractor Drive Planning Committee. "It’s a day of camaraderie, open roads, and honoring the legacy of those who worked the land before us."

On-site registration begins at 6:30 a.m. with departure promptly at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $55 per tractor, which includes snacks, lunch, a commemorative hat, and a 2025 magnet. Pre-registration is highly encouraged to ensure smooth coordination.
