Food Trucks On Front To Debut Wednesday In Mokena
The Village of Mokena is looking to start a new summer tradition with food trucks featured in the downtown area.
MOKENA, IL — The Village of Mokena is set to start a new summer tradition Wednesday: Food Trucks on Front.
The event is scheduled to take place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the west end of the Metra parking lot on Front Street, according to the Village.
Some trucks will only take cash, so the Village is advising residents to plan accordingly.

Trustee Debbie Engler, who is spearheading the effort, said at Monday's Village Board of Trustees meeting that Wednesday's event will feature a limited number of food trucks, but that she hopes the event will continue to grow throughout the summer.
Village staff were not able to provide a list of food trucks scheduled to participate Wednesday.

Food Trucks on Front is scheduled to take place on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Upcoming dates are July 6, July 20, Aug. 3 and Aug. 17.
