2 Juveniles, 1 Adult Charged With Burglary In Naperville

NAPERVILLE, IL — Police arrested two juveniles and an adult early Friday after a resident reported seeing them trying to open car doors in the 1500 block of Westminster Drive.

Officers were called to the area just before 6 a.m. and found three people inside a car. According to police, the trio tried to flee on foot while officers were speaking with them.

They were taken into custody shortly after. The adult was identified as John J. Bailey, 19, of Chicago. Bailey and the juveniles were charged with felony burglary and additional misdemeanors.

“This was excellent work by the responding patrol officers who were able to apprehend these subjects and by the detectives who conducted a thorough follow-up,” Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement.

Arres added, “I would also like to thank the members of the public who received the Naper Notify message we sent out and called us when they saw subjects fitting the description in the neighborhood. This type of partnership is exactly what helps our department to protect this city and lets those who try to victimize our residents know we will not tolerate this type of behavior.”

The arrests come shortly after Naperville police responded to six residential burglaries, most of which involved forced entry.
