3 Charged In 2023 Apple Store Crash, Burglary In Naperville
Charges were filed against three people in connection with the Nov. 2023 incident, in which a car was driven into the Apple store.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Three people were charged in connection with a 2023 burglary in which a car was driven into the Apple Store in Naperville.
Christie K. Lopez, 30, of Chicago, and David J. Fultz, of Rockford, were charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and theft. A Maywood man, who was a juvenile at the time, faces the same charges.
Fultz was taken into custody Wednesday, whereas Lopez was arrested on March 13.

Police had been called to the Apple Store at 120 W. Jefferson Ave. just after 6 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2023, after a Hyundai Elantra drove through the store's glass facade. When police got to the scene, the car, which came up as stolen, was still running, but no one was inside.
It's estimated that the crash caused $300,000 in damage to the building and $34,000 in items were stolen by the trio, who fled in a different car, according to police.

“This was a very brazen and high-profile burglary, and we’ve had residents asking about arrests since the day it happened,”Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres said in a statement. “This just goes to show that investigations can take some time, but we do get results. The persistence of our detectives is unmatched, and we’re committed to catching anyone who commits a crime in our town.”
