3 Displaced From Homes As Fire Damages Apartment Building In Naperville

Fire officials say Sunday's blaze left two units in the building uninhabitable.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Three residents were displaced from their homes after a fire broke out in an eight-unit apartment building on Royal St. George Drive Sunday morning.

Fire crews got a call around 9:15 a.m. reporting smoke was seen coming from a roof vent on the building. Firefighters located an active blaze in the attic and evacuated residents who were still side the building.

The flames were contained within 25 minutes, per Naperville Fire Department.

Two units were deemed uninhabitable after the fire, which is estimated to have caused approximately $20,000 in damage to the building. The displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross.
