8 Fatal Crashes In Naperville In 2024 Prompt Traffic Safety Webinar

Police say there were over 3,200 crashes reported in Naperville in 2024.

NAPERVILLE, IL — Naperville police will host a traffic safety webinar on April 23. The virtual seminar comes after 2024 saw more than 3,200 crashes in Naperville, eight of which were fatal.

During the webinar, data and safety tips will be shared by Naperville Police Chief Jason Arres, Traffic Unit Sergeant Derek Zook and Andy Hynes, engineering manager for Naperville's Transportation, Engineering and Development Department.

“Traffic safety is a partnership. Our officers are out there enforcing traffic laws, but residents have to realize that there are hundreds of miles of roadway in Naperville and traffic safety cannot be achieved through enforcement alone,” Chief Arres said in a statement. “I’m hopeful that the information we present in this webinar will be eye-opening to residents and encourage more people to partner with us to make our roads safer.”
