A Half-Dozen Bundles of Fur Seeking Homes

These are just a few of the adoptable pets waiting for homes at area shelters.

Cricket is a 3-year old front-declawed cat with a very sweet temperament.  She is very vocal and loves to be around people.  Her favorite activities are playing, eating and snuggling.  She gets along great with children of any age as well as other cats and dogs.  She would make the perfect addition to any family.

Rufus is a 5-year old Rhodesian ridgeback mix who's looking for a very active family.  He's highly food motivated so he's a great candidate for obedience training.  He loves people and toys alike, even laser pointers for cats!  Kids in his new family should be older than 12 and he gets along great with cats and most other dogs.

Bessie is a 2-year old front-paw declawed kitty with a very laid-back, sweet demeanor.  She has big green eyes and a white and brown tabby pattern.  She'll need someone to monitor her diet since she could stand to lose a few pounds.  She would make a great companion cat for someone very lucky!

Jersey is a 6-year old female Rottweiler-mix with a lot of love to give.  She was surrendered to the shelter after her previous owner became ill and was no longer able to care for her.  She can be a little shy in unfamiliar situations but warms up quickly.  She would do best in a quieter home without small children.  She bonds well with people and will make a great addition to her new family.

Mishy is a male with a thick white coat. He came to us a little over a month ago and just had his ninth birthday. He is a big boy who is a cuddly adorable purring machine.  He starts purring the minute you start talking to him. He just loves attention and likes to snuggle close and is super laidback. He would make a great best friend for anyone.

Windsor came to as part of a rescue transfer out of Kentucky. He is a 2-year-old yellow Labrador retriever. We suspect he was raised as an outdoor dog because he loves to be outside. He enjoys being around people and is good with kids. Windsor is working on commands and knows sit and come.  In training, he prefers tennis balls as a reward.
