Adopt Me! Elmer, Charlie, Bonnie and Foster

These are just a few of the adoptable dogs and cats waiting for a home at area shelters.

Elmer is an orange tabby and is 3 years old.  He is a plus-size cat with a heart and attitude to match.  He loves attention and rough housing.  He would be a loyal companion for that certain individual(s) who wants a pal for life.  This amazing creature cannot be described in words - you have to see him for yourself.  He's awesome and he’s waiting.

Charlie is a 3-year-old Lhasa Apso that was brought to because his owner could no longer care for him.  Charlie’s been at the shelter all summer and needs to go to a loving home.  Charlie is a very well mannered dog and loves to be around people.  He’s quite the perfect lap dog.  His under bite makes him look like he’s constantly smiling.  He is housetrained and knows general commands.  Charlie would do best as the only dog in the household.

For more information about any of the cats and dogs we have available to adoption please contact A.D.O.P.T. Pet Shelter at 630-355-2299.  The shelter is a no-kill, nonprofit, animal shelter at 420 Industrial Drive, Naperville, Il.  Visit us at www.adoptpetshelter.org.

Bonnie is a 3-year-old, female, front declawed Siamese mix.  Even though she is as sweet as a kitty can be, Bonnie has ended up in the shelter three times.  She was found as a stray when she was just a kitten and has been returned to twice after being adopted. Bonnie was returned to NAHS after being bullied by her owner’s previous animals and after her second family could no longer care for her.  She’s hoping her third trip to the shelter will be her last, and promises to love her new family with her whole heart.  She gets along with other cats and would be fine with cat-savvy dogs.  Do you have room in your family to show this kitty how special a truly forever home can be?

Foster is a 4-year-old male cattle dog mix that has a smile that can melt anyone’s heart.  He came to NAHS after being found as a stray roaming the streets of Naperville.  It’s rough out there for a stray dog, and poor Foster came down with heartworms.  He’s being treated and doing well, but his new family should know he can’t be neutered until he gets the OK from our vet.  NAHS will continue to cover the costs for his remaining heartworm treatment and his neuter.  Foster enjoys the company of most children, cats and other dogs.  This snuggly, athletic guy will make a great companion for a lucky family – could it be you?
