Adopt Me!: Shadow, Zeus, Molly and Simone
These are just a few of the pets available for adoption at area animal shelters.
Some people think cats are aloof, but Shadow is making it his own personal crusade to prove them wrong. This 3-year-old domestic medium hair male cat loves attention and enjoys following people around and being the greeter in the lobby. Shadow is good with kids, has lived with other cats and is used to an active, noisy home. If you’re looking for a constant companion, come meet Shadow today!
Zeus is a 10-month-old male American pit bull terrier/retriever mix who came all the way from Oklahoma to find his forever home. He’s a busy guy who likes to stay physically and mentally active. He would do great in a lively home with a family that has lots of love to give him. Although Zeus may love to live with another playful dog, he shouldn’t live with any cats. Because he’s a strong, energetic guy, kids in his new home should be old enough to handle an active dog like him. This adorable guy may be perfect with a rambunctious, sports loving family – could it be yours?
More dogs and cats are available at the Naperville Area Humane Society. All the animals have been examined for health and temperament, started on their vaccines and microchipped. They are spayed or neutered at adoption. Hours are 5 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Visit at 1620 W. Diehl Rd. in Naperville or online at www.napervilleareahumanesociety.org.

Molly and her puppies were rescued by A.D.O.P.T. from a high kill shelter in Kentucky. Molly is a 2-year-old tri-colored beagle. She is an active girl who loves to go on walks. She loves attention from people and also enjoys being a lap dog. Molly is attending obedience classes with us so she has a head start to learning basic commands so she’ll be ready for her forever home. Though she just recently started she already has mastered “sit” and is working on “stay”.
Simone was given up to the shelter when her owner could no longer afford to care for her. After spending her whole life as a house cat, she is a bit out of sorts at the shelter. However, she is a kitty who really loves her human. Her owner shared that she would greet her at the door when they came home. She'd even sit on the edge of the tub when her owner would take a bath and she loves to cuddle in bed. She loves to be petted and brushed and will let you know when she has had enough! Simone is not a big fan of other cats and would prefer to be an only pet. This sweet girl is looking for her very own special home.
