B.I.G. Supports Women Who Serve

B.I.G. (Believe, Inspire, Grow), a women’s support, education and networking organization that embraces women’s desire to connect with each other, is proud to announce their initiative to provide safe and supportive environments to the women in military lives as a way to further their personal and professional dreams and goals.

Beginning Nov. 1 through Jan. 2, 2012, retired or active duty servicewomen and the wives of active duty servicemen, will have the opportunity to join one of the 50 available local community B.I.G. groups located throughout the Northeast and Chicago Area for three months for free.

Through their B.I.G. membership, these military women will have the opportunity to attend monthly meetings and connect and build important relationships with other who live their community, explore their professional passions and dreams and receive valuable education from local subject matter experts on a variety of professional topics.  Among the nearly thirty topics covered include, how to use social media to further your business ideas, how to build your business confidence and how to set your goals and develop the action steps to achieve them.

“We are honored to provide this opportunity to those women who have already sacrificed so much for the rest of us,” said B.I.G. Founder and CEO Tara Gilvar.  “This idea came from one of our members, who thought that military women would benefit greatly from the wonderful, supportive and safe environments that B.I.G. meetings and events offer.   It is our hope that through B.I.G., our military women will be able to “join forces,” as Mrs. Obama urged, with other women in their community to gain personal validation, gain self confidence and spend time focusing on themselves and the pursuit of their own passions and goals.   All women in transition need and deserve this kind of positive experience, but none more than the women of military families.”

Military women interested in attending a B.I.G. meeting and getting their free three month membership can visit the www.justthinkbig.us website to find a meeting location near them.   At sign in at the meeting, simply show military ID and the local B.I.G. leader in each community will arrange for the free membership.
