Naperville Chamber Elects Seven New Directors

The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce membership elected seven new Members to its board of directors at its General Membership Luncheon, which served as the annual membership meeting. 

“I want to thank the seven individuals for their willingness to serve at this critical time in our economy,” said John Schmitt, president & CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. “Through their service and leadership, along with the talented other members of our board, the Chamber will serve as an advocate for the business community and provide valuable services to our Members to help them improve and grow their businesses over the next several years.”

The three-year board terms commence Jan. 1, 2012, and the newly elected directors are:

  • Natasha Bonomo, Northern Trust Corporation
  • Sarah Bruns, Avocado Inc.
  • Mark Galati, Interior Investments LLC
  • Charles McClimans, Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry
  • Raymond McGury, Naperville Park District
  • Tom Miers, Naperville Bank & Trust
  • Mark Schultz, Dugan & Lopatka

The seven members elected were recommended by the board’s nominating committee, which received 21 nominations from the membership. After interviewing all of the candidates, the nominating committee advanced the nomination of these members to the full board of directors and membership. 

The nominating committee also recommended Dr. Cathy Subber, Advanced Health of Naperville, serve as chair of the board during 2013 and chair-elect during 2012. The board will formally elect the 2012 board officers and chair-elect position in December.

The 28-member board of directors manages the Chamber’s overall strategic direction; ensures quality programs, services and products are offered to Members; promotes and supports the Chamber and its activities; and provides governance and oversight of the Chamber’s finances and internal policies.
